Pasternak: Merck Will Stay in Heart Disease Research

According to Richard Pasternak, head of cardiovascular clinical research of the Whitehouse Station based Merck & Co. they currently have under research 8 new compounds. Pasternak’s remarks were made at the Annual Congress of the American Heart Association currently undergoing in New Orleans. With almost 30 percent of the US market share for heart diseases drugs. Merck & Co. Revealed their strong commitment to research and development. The company currently makes roughly $7 billion of its $24 billion in annual revenue from the blood pressure drugs Cozaar, Hyzaar and Vasotec and its cholesterol drugs Vytorin, Zetia and Zocor.
