South Korea: Pfizer Lost Lipitor Patent Suit

After almost two years of legal battle, U.S. based Pfizer Inc. did not convince South Korea Supreme Court with their arguments, therefore ruled against its protection. Lipitor is Pfizer´s world`s most selling drug. The ruling favors six local companies that already market generic versions. The patent is owned by Warner-Lambert Co., the New York- based developer of Lipitor, which Pfizer bought for $115 billion 10 years ago. Among the local drug makers are CJ Corp., Dong-A Pharmaceutical Co. y Boryung Pharmacuetical Co. On the other hand, eight more companies will benefit from the court´s ruling. Publish comment:
